What You Will Learn: This training will focus on trapeze and silks to introduce everyBODY to aerial, making aerial an accessible art form for all to enjoy. We will speak specifically to how to educate students on proper form in stretching and strengthening skills to prepare their bodies for work in the air. The training will focus on getting teachers ready to teach their first aerial class.
The skills covered on trapeze can be transferable to hoop, and the skills covered on silks knot can be transferable to sling. By focusing on trapeze and silks, we are seeking to provide participants with a well-rounded start to the basics of teaching any aerial apparatus.
By the end of the training, teachers will have learned and practiced
Safety Note: This training is meant to inform movement instructors of best practices in aerial teaching. Completing this course does not guarantee that participants will be effective aerial instructors. Experience, practice, and self-reflection are all important components in the process of becoming a competent aerial teacher.
