Aerial YOGA
Philosophy and Teaching MethodsAerial yoga is a practice with a playful spirit. We use the hammock as a prop to both modify and challenge traditional yoga postures, and then we swing and hanging upside-down, too! Our approach is a balancing of opposites. We are serious about safety and alignment principles (calling all anatomy nerds!), but we are also lighthearted and enjoy making our classes fun for everyone.
Practices usually begin with grounded postures that gradually transition into the air. This allows students to find their roots before they begin to fly, keeping them centered for a more pleasant experience. We teach inversions with safety as our number one priority, and we also offer classes that are inversion-free. Our aerial yoga course sequence can also be part of the bridge from ground fitness to aerial arts programs. |
