Earn your certificate in aerial teaching.

2023 ANNOUNCEMENT:
WE ARE CLOSING OUR CERTIFICATE PROGRAM
BUT WILL CONTINUE TO OFFER TEACHER TRAININGS WITH A SIMPLE "CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION" AT THE CONCLUSION OF THE TRAINING.

An aerial teacher certificate is often recognized by both studio owners and their insurance companies.  It shows that you've put in the hours practicing safety skills and effective teaching methods. We offer certificates in aerial sling, aerial fabric, aerial hoop, rope and trapeze.

The uniqueness of our program lies in the high expectation of teaching immediately following your certificate or -- even better -- while you in the process of receiving live training.  Our Born to Fly Certificate Program is broken up into two sections: LIVE TRAINING versus THE PRACTICUM.

LIVE TRAINING

The LIVE TRAINING may be taken on it's own.  This is the time to soak in the knowledge from your Master Trainer. Learn from all their years (10+) of experience owning a studio and teaching full-time to learn all you can before you embark of your own teaching journey.  The live training can take anywhere from 24 hours (private training) to 40 hours (group training with practice teaching).

PRACTICUM

The PRACTICUM is made up of everything else you do on your own time to earn your certificate. Mostly, this is PRACTICE Teaching. You must set up a time and have access to students in your home base to complete this portion. Ideally, it will be already in motion when you consider taking a teacher training. After (or during) the training, you begin teaching or assisting in live aerial classes. You must complete at least 10 Hours of Live Teaching on your own to earn your certificate in any area (apparatus or level). Some certificate programs may require up to 30 hours of teaching. You must also complete 10 hours of Live Training to renew your certificate (every 3-4 years).

In addition to practice teaching, your certificate program may include other requirements such as homework (from books such as Applied Anatomy of the Aerial Arts), online courses or observing classes. These are customized and varies with each training.

CERTIFICATE PROGRAM

At Born to Fly, we believe the best teacher is experience. When you take a training, you tap into the experience of your Trainer. Then, you must get in a classroom and start teaching in order to truly learn the ropes (or the fabric, etc) of teaching. While you are welcome to take the Live Teacher Training without continuing on with the certificate program, we believe that the most value is obtained when the teacher completes the entirety of the program.

Please note that live training is sold separately from the Certificate Program.
